Great book for everyday practice.

The Free Response book is similar to the Multiple Choice book in terms of formatting except (obviously) all the questions are free response related. Once again the video explanations are super useful and there are lots of problems to practice with. I did notice the workbook puts more emphasis on fractions which is very good because to my understanding the state exam tests a little more heavy on fractions. As written in my previous review for the multiple choice book, i would recommend this book as well. They go hand in hand and gives adequate practice questions that covers the different standards students will learn over the entire year. Common Core- Eek!

An actual common core workbook

Excellent workbook, I love how these workbooks are divided into weeks and days which makes it very easy to follow. The questions in the book are also ACTUALLY common core, none of the other workbooks are real simulated questions. The state exam has all word problems and many workbooks have easy problems which are mental math. The questions in both workbooks are challenging and resemble the common core exam. Highly recommended

Not Common Core!

I wanted a book to complement the common core teachings for my son with problems solved the way they are taught at his school (which is now pretty much standard for all common core curriculum's). THIS BOOK IS NOT COMMON CORE MATH. The order of problems is different than what the Go! Math book has, but more importantly, the explanations with the accompanying website are DEFINITELY not common core explanations. The explanations are how math would have been explained to me 30 years ago. That's fine. That's how I learned math. But it IS NOT what common core math is and not what the kids are being taught in school. Don't label the book Common Core, if it's not Common Core!
